The world of blockchain is moving fast — but for many people it remains an impenetrable jungle of jargon, barriers and technical pitfalls. That is exactly where 3Blocks comes in: a platform that makes complex DeFi strategies simple enough for anyone to use. What began as a small idea within the crypto community has grown into an ambitious company pursuing not just products, but an entire vision.
In this post you will find out how we went from our first projects to founding a company, why we see DeFi as the future of finance, and what role beel plays in that. A look behind the scenes — and a glimpse of where the journey is headed next.
When did you found the company?
Having delivered crypto projects as a GbR since 2023, we took the next step in mid-May 2025 and founded a UG (haftungsbeschränkt), a German limited liability company.
What kind of service do you offer?
We work across two core areas:
Product development: With Pecunity, our platform for automated investment strategies, we are making access to DeFi easier than ever. DeFi stands for "decentralised finance" and refers to financial applications on the blockchain that work without banks or central intermediaries. With Pecunity, users can implement complex strategies such as staking, lending or automated vault management at the click of a button. We are the first to make that access possible in a secure, transparent and user-friendly way.
Services: Full-stack Web3 development for third parties — smart contracts, wallets, tokens, dApps, NFT and DeFi platforms, and more.
How did you come up with the idea for your service?
We have been deeply rooted in the crypto community for years: we have traded, built software and had countless conversations. The same questions kept coming up. "How do I get my tokens cross-chain?" "Why do I always need a separate gas token?" "Why does all of this have to be so complicated?" Those barriers are precisely what has kept so many people from taking advantage of what DeFi offers. On top of that, we saw that 84% of investors lose money trading crypto. That is why our focus is on DeFi rather than trading — less risk, and passive returns with real substance.
With Pecunity, we built a solution that addresses these problems. Our goal was to combine the freedom and possibilities of decentralisation with the usability of a modern web application. Pecunity makes complex DeFi strategies — from staking and lending through to automated cross-chain strategies — accessible to anyone. And we really do mean anyone. Even people who have never had any contact with cryptocurrencies should be able to access decentralised returns through Pecunity, without any speculative trading.
What is your vision and mission?
Mission: To build user-friendly blockchain solutions.
Vision: To create a world in which everyone can use the benefits of blockchain technology safely and easily.
Who is your target audience?
Our audiences range from crypto beginners, who get their first access to DeFi through social login and a simple interface, all the way to crypto experts, who can automate or monetise complex strategies via the Strategy Builder. Anyone interested in passive income is welcome and should come and get a first taste of decentralised finance with us.
What does your roadmap look like?
2023–2024: Building the community, smaller projects, and our first larger NFT project (OctoNFTs).
Q4 2025: Launch of Pecunity with the Strategy Builder and the $PEC utility token, which is used to pay transaction costs — much like ETH on Ethereum, it delivers real utility and reflects actual platform usage.
From 2026: Scaling up, integrating further chains and DeFi protocols, with the aim of becoming the one-stop solution in DeFi.
How did you hear about beel?
Through our network, and through looking for a legally sound, German-regulated way to raise capital that was also innovative and a good fit for the philosophy behind blockchain. And of course nothing fits that better than tokenising the company itself.
What made you choose this way of raising capital?
beel allows us to issue equity-like stakes transparently, digitally and in a legally compliant way via security tokens — without having to clear all the legal hurdles ourselves that beel has already dealt with. A Private Offer suits what we needed: raising capital from a small number of investors with significant means.
How did your investors react to the introduction of GmbH tokens?
Very positively. One investor put it like this: "Finally, a way to invest in a German crypto startup without going the long way round through offshore structures. That makes 3Blocks even more trustworthy for us."
What possibilities do you see with beel in the future?
Digitising further funding rounds efficiently and in a legally compliant way, giving international investors straightforward access as well, and possibly bringing employees in as shareholders.
